Regional Director for Europe

Ms. Isabel Garaña joined UNWTO in October 2011 as Regional Director for Europe and has more than 20 years of experience in the Spanish public administration, seven of which in the State Tourism Administration.
She also has extensive experience as the Secretary-General of the Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña), a position where she actively participated in the elaboration and strategic tourism plans and the regulation of different economic sectors, including tourism, energy, labour and industry.
