Biography
My first experience of independent travel may well have been in a tent pitched in the back garden at home but over the years my appetite for travel grew and my horizons expanded. I progressed to hitch-hiking, cycling and Inter-railing around Europe, as well as walking many long distance paths in the UK. I’ve stayed in every type of accommodation from the traditional to the ramshackle.
In my role as Regional Manager for Europe at CMS Hospitality with responsibility for a large number of key accounts, I have developed a great understanding of the unique challenges faced by Hostels. I have worked with numerous accommodation providers, helping them incorporate new technology and drive efficient working practices that allow them to re-invest in their own business. CMS Hospitality is a leading provider of Property Management Systems to the Hostel industry with over 30 years’ experience and a client list ranging from national YHA organisations and large Hostel chains through to independent operators.
My working life started in Hospitality but has also involved roles in Sales and Account Management at Amazon and PayPal where I helped a diverse portfolio of businesses grow through embracing new marketplaces and technologies.
This is a very exciting time to be involved in the travel, accommodation and technology industry and my background, both professional and personal, would bring a new perspective to the STAY WYSE Advisory Panel, helping members as they adopt new technology, expand their business reach and explore new opportunities.
I am a firm believer that all young people should be given the opportunity to travel in a safe environment whether it be close to home or the other side of the world. STAY WYSE members should be given the best possible support and advice as they look to provide these environments in continually diverse locations.
