A mobile pop-up store on a double decker bus, fitted out with the latest Oculus Rift virtual reality technology has been created by STA Travel, a WYSE Travel Confederation member.
The youth travel company is driving around the United Kingdom with a ‘Find Your State of Play’ #STARoadTrip experiential campaign, in conjunction with Brand USA.
Consumers will be able to experience virtual reality tours to the US together while being offered exclusive travel deals. Customers using the Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets will be transported to US destinations including Los Angeles and San Francisco.
STA Travel will be launching an exclusive ‘book now, pay later’ GBP 29 flight deposit deal to secure flights, only available on the bus.
Other offers include campervans from GBP 34 a day and discounts on adventure tours and accommodation.
The top deck of the bus will be fitted with a mobile pop-up store for bookings. Downstairs will be a lounge area with a free coffee bar and deckchairs outside.
Everyone visiting the ‘Find Your State of Play’ tour bus will receive a scratchcard with potential prizes including GBP 1,000 towards a US road trip, GBP 25 off flights to the US, or GBP 70 off adventure tours with a minimum spend of GBP 700.
People can follow the tour with the hashtag #STARoadTrip.
Glen Mintrim, managing director of STA Travel UK, USA & Africa, said: “This is our first ever mobile store and we are delighted to be working with Brand USA, as part of our ongoing ‘Find Your State of Play’ campaign.
“The tour is a great way to connect with potential customers across the country face to face and bring an interactive taste of the USA to them.”
