Emilie Hagedoorn

WYSE Travel Confederation is pleased to welcome Emilie Hagedoorn, who has been appointed to the position of Business Development and Membership Manager.

Emilie will be supporting membership growth and looking after new and existing members to ensure they get the most from WYSE Travel Confederation.

With an MSc in Responsible Tourism Management, awarded by the ICRT Leeds Metropolitan, Emilie is committed to the development of sustainable tourism worldwide.

After twelve years of teaching in international schools around the world she moved away from education to pursue a career in tourism.

Emilie’s entrance to the travel industry began with a ski school representative role for PGL Adventure Holidays in Austria. After this she did a sustainable tourism internship with TUI Netherlands before working as a tour leader for Intrepid Travel in Eastern Europe. In 2011 Emilie became a consultant and auditor for Travelife and Sales Manager for Fair Trade Tourism (FTT) in Europe and South Africa.

David Chapman, Director General of WYSE Travel Confederation said: “We would like to thank Emilie for joining our team to support our members in developing their business, as well as the youth and student travel industry as a whole.”

Commenting on her new role, Emilie said: “I am delighted to come home to the Netherlands from South Africa to work for WYSE Travel Confederation. The youth and student travel sector is an exciting and dynamic one with a huge potential for responsible tourism development in destinations we love to visit. I am looking forward to working with our current members to support them in the growing youth and student travel industry, and to welcoming new ones to the WYSE Travel Confederation community.”
