The benefits of working while travelling in Australia are being highlighted to 18–30 year olds in the UK in a joint promotion.

Youth travel firm STA Travel,  a WYSE Travel Confederation member, and Tourism Australia have teamed up for the ‘Live by Aussie Rules’ campaign which includes a number of special offers such as flights to Australia for GBP 499.

STA Travel UK product and marketing director Tim Fryer said: “The Working Holiday Visa scheme is a great way for young people to earn as they travel, meaning they’re bolstering their CV, gaining valuable work experience, living as a local while Down Under and getting some extra money to fund their travels.

“Australia remains top of the list for those planning a gap year and we have seen significant growth in the numbers of people interested in the scheme over the last year.”

Other special deals available until April 2 include up to 20% off Australia adventure tours and Working Holiday Visas from GBP 299.

Denise von Wald, Tourism Australia’s regional general manager UK/Northern Europe said: “Last year alone more than 36,000 first time visas were granted, making the UK the number one market for those travelling on a Working Holiday Visa.
