Use mobile to make more money and charge the customer less

Ecommerce is limited in how it can transact with customers – one single checkout flow means that the cart becomes an “upsell firesale” to take advantage of the payment experience for airline passengers. However, there’s another model using modern payment tech, and mobile, to allow passengers to “progressively buy upgrades” for their trips. Instead of one large ticket, sell the lower cost item first and make it easy to upgrade.
