Biography
I studied languages (translation for Spanish, English and German) at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, Germany. During my studies at university, I spent a year in Spain for an academic exchange, too. After graduating from university, I started working at an international emergency assistance service for travel insurance in Germany for eight years. That is why I know which features and benefits are most important and especially how the insurance “materializes” when it comes to claims.
In 2006, I started working for Dr. Walter in the sales department in the area of international education and youth travel. I have attended numerous conferences (WYSTC, WETM/ IAPA, Alphe, ICEF, EAIE etc.) in the past ten years and know the industry and the requirements of exchange organisations and youth travel operators. I have done several presentations on quality standards in travel insurance on international meetings and conferences and my comments on various topics were published in international journals like Study Travel Magazine or the International Travel Insurance Journal.
I am convinced that I can contribute to shaping the future of WYSE with my expertise of 18 years in this niche market, especially as I have experienced travel insurance from both the claims and the sales perspective and I am convinced that exchange organisations and youth travel operators will be able to increase their quality standards in travel insurance and will better understand what travel insurance is all about.
