Biography
A regular attendee of WYSTC, Kerry Tate has, for the past 12 years, flown the flag for global youth travel in a variety of roles across sectors, from accommodation to travel retail to tour operations.
Joining Topdeck, the global leader in youth group travel, in 2011, Kerry was charged with launching the brand’s Australasian touring programme throughout inbound markets. With a focus on building strategic distribution partnerships and in a short timespan this region quickly grew to become one of the global touring operator’s key business drivers.
Embarking on the well-trodden road from Sydney to London in 2012, Kerry held the role of Topdeck’s European Director of Sales, where he headed up the sales and customer service teams across the continent. With an inspiring portfolio of global touring product under his belt, Kerry built an incredible knowledge of the market, and holds valuable relationships across key global wholesale partners.
Recently returned to Australia, Kerry now oversees Topdeck’s Australasian tour operations. Outside of this, he holds a position on Australia’s Backpacker & Youth Travel Advisory Panel, an contributes regularly to local Backpacker Operator Associations across both Australia and New Zealand.
Kerry brings to the board a truly international perspective on the global Youth Travel Industry.
