Jason is re-standing for the Management Board for two years. | |
VP & Chief Commercial OfficerMerit Travel Group |
I believe that I bring a millennial focus to the executive board and a unique perspective. I have been a part of the travel industry for quite some time, having grown up learning about tourism and seeing it change first hand throughout the years.
Merit Travel Group’s ownership of both travelcuts and Merit Travel provides us with both the perspective of operating an online travel business as well as a retail travel agency.
This two pronged approach to tourism makes us one of the more unique companies and provides me with daily interactions with both bricks and mortar retail travel and high-speed online travel. I think that along with my personal perspective on the travel industry, this market position gives me great information and knowledge to share with the executive board.I would like to stand for election to the executive board because the current makeup of the board does not represent large scale travel agencies or buyers in a very meaningful way.
By not having representation from the “buying” community on the board, I believe that WYSE misses opportunities to glean valuable knowledge of trends and popular products and services and how to best capitalise on any opportunity that those provide. In addition, category 3 WYSE members are not very well represented on the executive board and as these organisations make up a huge part of the global youth tourism segment, they should be represented.
Thank you for the opportunity to stand for election.
