Biography
Originally from England, I now live in Cape Town running African Impact, Africa’s leading Social Development Enterprise facilitating Volunteering, Internships and Service Learning experiences. I have volunteered around the Globe which brought me to African Impact. Prior to this I was a Senior Manager for a very successful Global Retailer.
I have volunteered on many different projects, seeing the good and bad sides of the industry. I started at African Impact managing projects and volunteers in South Africa and soon took over the Operational oversight of all African Impact projects. I have been instrumental in implementing the ethos and structure which has improved the quality of the impact each of our projects is making on Africa.
What would I bring to the Advisory Panel? 9 years of in-depth experience of Volunteering, running and developing Social Development and Conservation projects. For me volunteering brings so much to an individuals development and compliments the education they receive through traditional means. From my many years of experience in the corporate world, I appreciate the soft skills someone gains through travel and volunteering. At a time when our Industry is under increasing scrutiny I believe my wealth of experience will bring benefits to the Panel and the Industry as a whole.
