Berlin ‘Gallery for Good’ hosts pop-up photo exhibition: PLANET HER

A cultural addition to a business focused ITB agenda could be a visit to Gallery for Good in central Berlin, as they unveil their pop-up photo exhibition PLANET HER, images of women changing the world through travel.

Launching on International Women’s Day (Tuesday, 8 March), and running until Sunday, 13 March, it celebrates the power of travel as a force for good, bringing people together, transforming lives and empowering women around the world.

Tourism is not only one of the largest industries on earth and capable of great wealth distribution, it is also vital to the livelihood of countless women in developing countries. It can create employment and break down barriers of inequality and poverty. It can also grant access to education and training for women who perhaps had been excluded from school as girls.

The exhibition will feature images of women from Haiti, Burma and Tajikistan, amongst others, changing the world through travel. Photographs are taken by Daniel Noll and Audrey Scott, the Berlin-based award-winning writers and storytellers of Uncornered Market. The exhibition also includes images from G Adventures for Good projects such as Sisterhood of Survivors in Nepal, winner of the UNWTO Award for Innovation in 2016.

Admission is free and all visitors can enter to win a trip to Nepal provided by sponsors G Adventures and Lonely Planet.
